Tags are the most important component you configure in MP. You configure every tag based on the provider you have configured in prior steps. You can set up 2 types of Tags, Image (IMG) and JavaScript (JS) tags.

  • Select Add Tag, to open a popup window to select a provider, for which you are configuring a tag. Once you select the tag, new tag details page is displayed to edit the required information.
    • Qualification criteria – expand the drop down, you can select the qualification criterion or you can select multiple and they will be stacked.
    • Tag Info – In this section you configure some of the important characteristics of the tag.
      • Validity Period – These dates are used to set up the tags’ Time To Live.
        • Start Date – Date when this tag should start executing
        • End Date – Date when this tag should stop firing.
      • Tag Query Parameters
        • Enter Query Parameter or Context path for the tag.
      • Tag URL – a read only complete Tag URL formed based on the configuration settings
      • Tag Type – This feature is one the most important features that you set up for a tag. Here you are specifying the tag to fire on the client browser or fire from the MP server. You can always change this setting and re-publish to switch between each option.
        • Client side – This radio button tells the MP to package this tag to fire on the Client browser.
        • Server Side – This radio button tells the MP to package this tag to fire on the server and have MP SDK to collect the data and pass it back to the MP server.
      • Provider Attributes – These are the data attributes configured at the provider level. Refer to provider configuration
      • Tag Attributes – you can add additional attributes at tag level that could be more specific to this tag. These will be treated as additional attributes to go along with provider attributes. Follow the same instructions as provider attributes.
